Who are we?

Catalyst empowers emerging leaders to make Birmingham a better place to live.

Our model is an experiment in mixing fun social events with leadership training and service opportunities. We believe that if you can get enough people together and give them access to information and to the people working on these issues, you can create a “constituency of change.”

Part civic action group and part social organization, Catalyst believes that civic engagement, leadership development, volunteerism and the healthy debate of issues affecting our region should be enjoyable. That’s why it’s hip to be civic.
